| No i mean to put out a legitimate mixtape or any cd there are legal things to take care of. If your just makin this for your friends then u wouldnt care but if your going to sell these all over the place you might want to do it legally... or not. thats what im asking. |

Contact all the beat producers for ur mixtape and get their permission to use the beats. If the beat has a Sample from another work used in it, and the sample hasn't already been cleared, then u need to get permission from the original works owner.
Make a list of samples that are used in beats on the mixtape and contact www.ascap.com, or www.harryfox.com.
One of these orginisations should be able to answer your licensing questions. |

| ^^^ exactly, and get it all in writing. Get everyone that has any part in making the cd to sign a contract explaining what you're allowed to do with their contribution and what they get in return. |
