Aight, was thinkin about this today.
Def Jux is one of the strongest if not the strongest indie Label, Roc is the strongest Mainstream label.
Completly different but which do yall think has stronger artist?

K first of all, The Diplomats are wack as hell thier first album proves it. Freeway is a terrible Lyricist, the rest of the Roc crew is decent. Cam is prolly the strongest, Jay really fucked up his shit after Reasonable Doubt.
Aesop doesnt really battle dude, have you listened to Daylight or Labor Days, his shits amazing.
Amateurs? most of the Def-Jux crew has more talent then anyone on the Roc..... |

This is probably the stupidest question ever asked. No competition. Definitive Jux is by far the better of the two. Rocafella sucks ass. They have no good, let alone halfway decent, artists, but Def Jux has nothing but talent.
As for that moron that picked Rocafella, claiming that Def Jux can't battle, sorry to burst your bubble but Roc isn't that great at anything. I don't really care if Aesop doesn't battle or not, the fact is that he is a dope artist and pulls out classic albums almost everytime. El-P, Aesop Rock, MURS, Mr. Lif, Rjd2, Cannibal Ox,and others that come out with thought provoking quality and classic albums, and the Roc has yet to deliver one. |

(i don't agree with 98%of the thread tho.)
but if half the roc artists would take the same concepts that your Def Jux crew uses... the Roc will make you their fans.
Def Jux will tell you themselves, no competition with the ROC. you kids swear to your mother's backbone.. that mainstream artists have no talent. they have... but that's not what sells however. sad, but true.
i'd say the roc.
(and i have def jux in my playlist, and barely ROC artists.) |

| fuckin hell haters!!!!!!!! as much as u dotn want 2 believae it these 2 do comapre they are both hip hop oriented labels. As far as im concered the jukies smash it on the lyrics and concepts side, but if u gave me some Kanye West or Just Blaze shit which hasnt been influenced by those SOB's Neptunes id probably rather have that than some Fantastic damage El-P esque production. |

he said it would fall along the lines of Reasonable Doubt and stay away from the style of Blueprint 2, so i think less cameo's and shit and just strait up jay. I really hope the album is sick though, i wouldnt want to see jay go out bad. |
