The best thing to do when your looing for samples and synths etc. Buy a package. It'll save you hours of work looking for and testing them.

to be honest...it takes a lot of searchin if u want to find good free samples that haven't been used 1000 times before. There are sum free loop sitesz out there, but mostly they'll have maybe a few dozen samples for each instrument, and I guarantee u all have been used to death.

You can buy sample cd's but again, if it is a popular series 100's of other producers will have used the best samples on the disk. Plus, a lot of hip hop sample disk are made up of kits with a professional Hook, bassline, and drumline. YOu can put these together into a nice track, but then you might as well get Hip Hop Ejay cus ur not really producin.

What do I suggest:

1) try and find Single Hit Instrument sounds. Like one piano C-Note from a few dozen different types of piano. Try and find similar single hits for strings, orchestras, brass, ect. it's always good to have a variety of high quality instrument sounds to add accompany with if the sample if lacking.

2) Do the same but with drum hits. This should be easier cus there r tones of drum hits out there.

3) Organize all your samples into folders for each type. Kicks, Snares, Strings, piano, bass, etc. It will help uin the long run, trust me.

4) Finding samples: Go to www.allmusic.com. Type in the style of music you want a sample from. Copy down a few of the artist names. Now go onto kazaa and download mp3's by that artist. Always try to get the files that are largest or in Excellent quality. Load the Mp3's into Acid Pro, or Cakewalk Sonar and clip the sections you want to sample. Save the sections as Wav's and then drop them into your fruity loops folders.

this can be very time consuming, but if you want to go the sampling route and find unique samples you gotta dig through a lot of music.

good luck wit it.

it's hard if you have too much samples. you gotta be able to produce some ggood music with a few samples if you know how. too much choices is hard coz you gotta spend more time choosing which sound you want.
